SEATTLE (CBS Seattle) – Leaked emails between a Boeing subsidiary and an Italian spyware company suggest computer hacking drones could be flying in the near future, reports Hacked.com.

Emails from the Italian company, called Hacking Team, were posted on Wikileaks, according to Engadget.

The emails show conversations between Insitu, a division of Boeing that specializes in unmanned aircraft, and Hacking Team.

They were approaching an agreement to team up and build drones that could be loaded with malware programs that could infect targeted computers through Wi-Fi.

The idea was to designed an unmanned aerial vehicle that would be capable of intercepting electronic communications and hacking wireless computer networks.

The joint project was shot down by lawyers for both companies when they couldn’t agree on a mutual non-disclosure agreement.

But the idea is still out there, and it’s conceivable that if Boeing was looking into the idea of drone computer hackers, then someone else is, too.
